Ministries at Grace

Grace Choir
Choir Director - Floyd Moore
The choir sings at the 11:00 a.m. service every Sunday, and at special services throughout the year. Each December the choir holds its annual Christmas Concert, one of the church's biggest and most well-attended events of the year.
The music program at Grace consists of the main choir and the Madrigals. Rehearsals are held on Wednesday evenings at 6pm for the Madrigals and 6:30pm for the choir.

Fitness Ministry
Instructor: Sue Toombs
Grace Church offers a personal approach to promote and advocate for physical health and wellness. We would like to make an impact in our local church and the community by meeting the changing needs in today’s culture. We look at this through the lens of a holistic Christian approach to life.
In these classes we develop friendships that encourage each other to seek effective exercise, healthy nutrition, weight control and stress reduction. We need to “move to lose”, but we also have to determine the need for rest and simplicity in our lives.
My goal as your instructor is to help you achieve a greater sense of empowerment over your physical well being. I am a Certified Fitness Trainer with International Sports Science Association and a Christian yoga instructor. I have been a fitness professional for 30 years and understand the unique needs of individuals who seek a lifestyle change.
Please bring a mat with you to all classes and a set of weights to the Fitness class.

Covered By Grace
Covered By Grace is an Outreach Ministry for the people of the Warren community. Donated hats, gloves, mittens, scarves, and jackets (when available) are placed on a clothesline on the front porch of the church for people to take as needed during the winter months November - February. Tags attached to each item to let them know that they are "covered by the Grace of God's love," and include an invitation to join us for worship.

Acolytes
Acolytes are children in at least the third grade who assist with the worship service. Training sessions are held in the spring for new members who are interested in serving this important ministry. They learn about church symbolism, church history, procedures and the expectations of acolytes. If you have a child who would like to join the Acolyte Ministry, please contact the church office.

Care with Grace Daycare
Director: Cindy Kalkbrenner
Care with Grace is a childcare center within Grace United Methodist church. Our goal at Care with Grace is to provide a fun, positive environment in which children can grow and thrive. We believe that each child is unique, and we work hard to assure that each child’s unique needs at being met. We believe that children learn best through playing and engaging with other children, as well as our staff. We also believe in focusing on early learning. We use FrogStreet curriculum for all our rooms and ensure that each child is being given the opportunity to learn.
We currently have limited openings available in our state-licensed childcare center for children ages 6 weeks to 10 years of age. Our hours of operation are 6:30am until 5:30pm, Monday through Friday. We enroll year-round. We offer Mon-Fri daycare for children not yet in school, as well as before, after, or before and after school care for children in school. We also remain open to school age children when there are days in which school is closed. We provide morning and afternoon snack daily and our staff always has fun activities scheduled.
Our staff is required to attend professional development training on a yearly basis. This broadens their knowledge on child development, state regulations that get updated regularly, best practices, and personal improvement.
Care with Grace is committed to developing and maintaining communication with families. We do this in many ways including daily forms, verbal communication between staff and parents, the ClassDojo app, and an open-door policy. Whether it's questions, problems or concerns, parents are encouraged to come to their child’s teacher or the director at any time. In addition, we encourage parents to participate in a variety of activities/celebrations and social events at our daycare. We believe a positive classroom partnership between parents and staff is essential to have a positive childcare experience.
